Potholes in Cambridge - a better way of the public reporting problems?

I've just come upon this website run by the CTC. It's far easier to use, and vastly superior to, the one used by the County Council for the public to report potholes:

Fill That Hole

On it we can see that Cambridgeshire is doing REALLY badly at this compared to the vast majority of the UK's authorities:

League Table

(148/212 at time of linking).

I've been reporting potholes, ruts and striations on cycle paths and roads since the summer of 2009 and I have seen no evidence of any action being taken with regard to the ones I have reported to date.

For Discussion/Debate - can the City Council really sit back and ignore the fact that the state of Cambridge's roads is so bad in a multitude of places that its claim to be a "cycling city" is little more than greenwash?

As someone who commutes 15 miles to Cambridge per day, 5 days a week (and drives to Cambridge on one day - in a hybrid), I would really like to see some action on this.

Cambridge may be aspiring to be a Sustainable City, but actions speak louder than words alone - let's see a real shift in 2010.

Cambs CC now slipped to 162 / 212 and still my regular comute is littered with holes. Dare we imagine how many remain unfilled (badly or otherwise)? This really is a simple issue - if we cannot maintain our roads, what hope do we have of seeing the aims of the Charter become a reality?
