SUMMARY:Decarbonising Cambridge Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Decarbonising Cambridge study is being undertaken by e
 nergy consultants Element Energy and town planning experts Terence Oâ€
 ™Rourke on behalf of the City Council. The study will provide part of 
 the evidence base from which the City Council will develop policies ai
 med at controlling carbon emissions from new developments and increasi
 ng the level of local renewable energy supply. These policies will for
 m part of the emerging Local Development Framework, the key set of doc
 uments that will influence the shape of Cambridge’s future growth.\n
 \nWe would appreciate your participation in a stakeholder workshop, to
  be held on 8th February. This workshop will be an opportunity for the
  views of local stakeholders to be fed into this important study.\n\nT
 he key aims of the workshop are to:\n1) Identify opportunities for the
  creation of low carbon energy infrastructure, for example district he
 ating networks.\n2) Identify and address the principal barriers to low
  carbon energy and building development projects in Cambridge.\n3) Det
 ermine the potential impact of local planning policies on the delivery
  of new development.\n4) Gather input on potential mechanisms to overc
